Award Nominations

Nominations may be made by any individual employed by a transit agency, an official of a transit agency, a regular or an associate member of Texas Transit Association, any TxDOT employee who works with the public transportation industry, any elected official or employee of local, city, or county governments. An organization may self-nominate. You may make a nomination in more than one category.

Awards will be presented at the 2026 TTA Conference, Expo, and Roadeo in Lubbock, TX, on April 29, 2026, during the award luncheon.

A transit manager employed by any public transportation system in Texas. This award honors a public transportation manager who has made outstanding contributions to the public transportation industry. Each nomination should include, but not be limited to:

  • Detailed description of the career of the nominee
  • Description of his/her achievements, or service that has advanced public transportation within their state system
  • a listing of any awards or other recognitions received by the individual
  • A listing of any advances made in community outreach, promotions of economic development, and other innovations in public transit services

An individual employed by the Texas Department of Transportation as a District PTC who works with the public transportation agencies. This award honors a public transportation coordinator who has made outstanding contributions to the public transportation industry.

This award honors a staff member who significantly supports and provides assistance to transit agencies and their programs. This staff member can be from the federal, state, county, city, or local level and must work in the office of a government agency, elected or appointed official. The recipient of this award must have been actively involved in some level of planning or support of transit-related issues and provided assistance to the public transportation industry.

This award honors a customer service employee who significantly supports and assists transit agencies and their programs. The recipient of this award must have been actively involved in some level of planning or support of transit-related issues and assisted the public transportation industry.

This award honors a Texas Transit Associate Member, either a company or individual that makes significant contributions to the public transportation industry in Texas and strongly supports the Texas Transit Association and its members.

This special award will be given to someone who has substantially advanced public transit in Texas. In making this nomination, the following criteria should be considered:

  • A detailed description of the nominee's career
  • Description of his/her accomplishments or service that have advanced public transportation within the state
  • Listing of awards or other recognition received by the individual
  • Specific examples regarding his/her activities and positive impact on public transit
  • The period of time during which the individual made the contribution
