Paratransit Maintenance Technician Workshop

Description

This hands-on paratransit maintenance training provides participants with practical knowledge and skills to perform effective preventive maintenance and identify common defects in paratransit vehicles. The training emphasizes best practices for vehicle care, system troubleshooting, and maintenance documentation. Participants will also explore real-world maintenance scenarios and gain access to resources. This session is designed to enhance operational efficiency, minimize downtime, and promote the long-term reliability and safety of transit fleets.

Training Highlights:

Complete Preventative Maintenance Walkthrough: Technicians will perform a full PM service with guidance, reviewing each step to ensure best practices are being followed. They’ll also review VIA’s latest PM checklist and provide feedback on documentation and procedures.

Common Defects & Troubleshooting with Simon Johnson: leading an interactive session identifying the most common vehicle defects, helping technicians recognize early warning signs, understand root causes, and troubleshoot based on symptoms.

Trans/Air AC System Training: will be onsite to provide specialized training on air conditioning units, focusing on system operation, maintenance, and diagnostics.
